ABOUT ME
My thirty year career spans both state and independent education, with twenty years at an independent grammar school in Greater Manchester. Over the past decade, I have specialised in English at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level, while maintaining my expertise in Latin and Classical Civilisation.
Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions including Head of Department, Oxbridge Coordinator, Scholarship Coordinator, and Academic Mentor for Sixth Form. These roles have given me extensive experience in identifying student potential and providing the strategic support needed for exceptional achievement.
I have a 1st Class Honours Degree from the University of Liverpool and an M.Phil in Classics and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge (Newnham College), along with a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership (NPQSL). This strong academic foundation enables me to deliver expert tuition across English and Classical subjects.

RATES AND T&C
11 Plus and Key Stage 3 - £45 per hour
GCSE and A Level - £50 per hour
Package of 10 lessons - 11 Plus and KS3 - £400; KS4/5 - £450
Lessons must be paid upfront. via bacs transfer. You may wish to pay as you go or pay for several sessions up front. Either way, my policy is not to continue with sessions unless payment for previous sessions is up to date.
Please give at least 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Emergency cancellations are handled flexibly for regular clients
Rescheduling may be possible with advance notice but isn't guaranteed
Same-day cancellations or no-shows require payment
Paying for my services means that you agree to my basic Terms & Conditions, including the cancellation policy outlined above.
